Casa DP
La intervención en Casa DP propone la renovación integral de los espacios sociales de la vivienda, incluyendo el ingreso, el living, el comedor, la cocina y el antiguo playroom. El proyecto surge a partir de la necesidad de actualizar la casa y adaptarla a una nueva etapa de la vida familiar, manteniendo gran parte de los elementos existentes pero reorganizando su funcionamiento y su identidad material.
La estrategia de diseño se basó en trabajar con lo existente, potenciarlo y mejorar su lectura espacial, evitando intervenciones invasivas y priorizando operaciones precisas sobre el mobiliario, la iluminación y los materiales.
El ingreso se plantea como el primer gesto de la intervención. Allí se incorpora un gran espejo vertical que amplía visualmente el espacio y refuerza la profundidad del hall. Este elemento se combina con un mueble de recibidor en madera natural de laurel, que introduce una materialidad cálida y establece el tono general del proyecto.
En el sector del living, la intervención se centró en renovar la imagen del espacio sin alterar su configuración original. El sillón existente fue retapizado para integrarlo al nuevo lenguaje del interiorismo, generando una composición en composé con el resto del mobiliario. Se incorporaron mesas bajas con tapas de piedra Dekton Calacatta, cuya veta clara dialoga con los materiales presentes en la cocina y permite establecer continuidad entre los distintos ambientes.
El comedor mantiene su mesa original, pero se reorganiza a partir de una intervención en el cielorraso. La modificación del plano superior y la incorporación de nuevas luminarias permiten enfatizar el eje de la mesa y jerarquizar el espacio de encuentro familiar, transformándolo en un punto central dentro de la casa.
En la cocina, el proyecto buscó modernizar la imagen sin modificar completamente su estructura. Los muebles existentes se extendieron hasta el techo para generar una lectura más limpia y continua del espacio, mientras que la superficie de trabajo fue reemplazada por Dekton Calacatta, reforzando la continuidad material con el área social. Una mesa redonda para el uso cotidiano introduce un ámbito más informal pensado para la dinámica diaria de la familia.
El antiguo playroom fue reinterpretado como un nuevo espacio de estar y trabajo. En este ambiente se incorpora el piano de la familia, que pasa a ocupar un lugar central dentro del proyecto. A su alrededor se organiza un pequeño estar y un escritorio con mobiliario diseñado a medida, transformando el antiguo espacio de juego en un ambiente más acorde a las necesidades actuales del hogar.
A través de intervenciones puntuales sobre mobiliario, iluminación y materialidad, el proyecto logra renovar la identidad de la casa sin perder su carácter original, generando espacios más contemporáneos, funcionales y adaptados a la evolución de la vida familiar.
The intervention in Casa DP proposes a comprehensive renovation of the home’s social areas, including the entrance hall, living room, dining room, kitchen, and the former playroom. The project stems from the need to update the residence and adapt it to a new stage of family life, preserving much of the existing structure while reorganizing its functional flow and material identity.
The design strategy was based on working with the existing fabric, enhancing it, and improving its spatial reading. Rather than invasive structural changes, the project prioritizes precise operations on millwork, lighting, and materiality.
The entrance serves as the first gesture of the intervention. A large vertical mirror was incorporated to visually expand the space and reinforce the depth of the hall. This element is paired with an entryway console crafted from natural laurel wood, introducing a warm materiality that sets the general tone for the project.
In the living area, the intervention focused on refreshing the space’s aesthetic without altering its original configuration. The existing sofa was reupholstered to integrate it into the new interior design language, creating a ton-sur-ton composition with the rest of the furniture. Low coffee tables with Dekton Calacatta tops were introduced; their subtle veining dialogues with the kitchen surfaces, establishing visual continuity between the different environments.
The dining room retains its original table but is reorganized through a strategic ceiling intervention. By modifying the overhead plane and incorporating new lighting fixtures, the design emphasizes the table’s axis and enhances the hierarchy of this family gathering space, transforming it into a focal point of the home.
In the kitchen, the project sought to modernize the aesthetic without a complete structural overhaul. The existing cabinetry was extended to the ceiling to create a cleaner, more continuous spatial reading, while the countertops were replaced with Dekton Calacatta, reinforcing the material cohesion with the social area. A round table for daily use introduces a more informal setting tailored to the family’s everyday dynamics.
The former playroom was reimagined as a new lounge and workspace. In this room, the family piano takes center stage within the design layout. A small seating area and a custom-designed desk are organized around it, transforming the old play area into an environment better suited to the household’s current needs.
Through targeted interventions in furniture, lighting, and materials, the project successfully renews the home’s identity without losing its original character, resulting in spaces that are more contemporary, functional, and adapted to the evolution of family life.
